Lyophilisate
The dry powder left after freeze-drying. Most research peptides are supplied as a lyophilisate in a glass vial, because they are much more stable dry than in solution.
In the lab
A good lyophilisate is a loose white cake or fine powder. A clumped, glassy look can indicate it has taken up moisture.
