Endotoxins
Cell wall components of certain bacteria that can strongly distort cell experiments. They are measured with dedicated tests such as the LAL test, not by HPLC.
In the lab
Endotoxins only appear on a certificate if they were specifically tested. For sensitive cell work it pays to ask for an endotoxin figure.
